HISTORY OF THE JMJ SOCIETY IN ROME – ITALY

The mission in Rome began in 1931 with a few Dutch Sisters working in the Dutch college hostel residents for priests who are studying there. The Charism of our founder, the need for availability, adaptability the signs of the times moved the Sisters to accept mission in Rome. After 20 years of service when the College was closed down in 2005 our Sisters returned to India.
On October 31, 1999 we started a community of our own in Monte Scenario as a residence for the JMJ student Sisters and those working there (SEDOS).
